Hi pink
Just wanted to let you know you do not have to put up with continual phone calls from them either. Tell them you want your numbers removed from their database and you will deal by correspondance only. Both you and Mr Pink will need to confirm this. In writing is the best way, as their credit management teams are based in Malaysia and they don't seem to understand that this is the law.
Hope you get a good result. I am waiting to hear if my offer of £25 a month to pay off overdraft will be accepted - they have accepted £25 a month on my gold card debt. (I have switched to Barclays);)

I would probably write a letter to the key, and maybe enclose his statement part that was sent to you in error.
HSBC have made an effor to apologise and compensate you, plus they have recognised their error. If the other guy (victim) wants to do the same, then he can. Afterall he's probably more of a victim in this than you are.Amo L'Italia0 -
i dont think i am a victim i am more than pleased with the money!! i just feel sorry for the guy who i have all his details. i wasnt saying should i do something to get more out of it for me, i want hsbc to know they cant just sweep things like this under the carpet as i doubt they will ven bother to tell this guy!0

The guy might be trying to claim back charges, so if this is a "good will" fob off, you will be providing him with more ammo if he doesn't want to accept. You can tell him about this site too (if he isn't already here somewhere) so he will be able to tie the bank in knots.

It's good that thy gave you something, but did they agree to the dmp payments without taking out a loan? A carefully worded letter may nudge them to agree without conditions considering this recent screwup. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Now *that* made me laugh - never had such poor service from anyone, much less a bank.0 -
How about a bad letter that needs a bit of work?
We write to thank you for the goodwill payment you have given on xx/xx/xxxx after issuing us with the details of Mr. wotsit's account. We are however concerned that this has occurred as our own bank details were sent to someone else 18 months ago. Can you please assure us that all staff are aware of their obligation to customer's rights under the Data Protection Act 1998 and the requirement to follow rules of good practice?
We are unfortunately still unclear however as to how our repayment arrangements lie as per our letter of xx/xx/xxxx indicating the Bankers Code and OFT guidance which has been breached. As explained, our DMP with CCCS prohibits us from entering any new credit agreements. Our other creditors have accepted the offers made to them and we have commenced payments. Your letter of xx/xx/xxxx indicates that you are willing to accept a payment of £49 per month, but due to the legal reasons mentioned above, we are unable to accept the conditions attached to the agreement.
In light of the other creditors agreeing to our repayment plan, please reconsider the offer. We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
EDIT: Have you had a reply from the last letter you sent? (Other than those account details)After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

hi georgeuk,
no have had no reply to the letter other than the one i have written in previous post that then supplied me with poor mans bank/home (entire life!) details. so they basically beated round the bush and didnt really give an proper response to my letter but instead focused completley on the my first point of bank charges?
