A&L Delay

I applied for an ISA with Alliance & Leicester on Saturday online and as of yet I have had no response except from an automated emailed stating there is a huge backlog.
Does anyone know how long I will have to wait and will there be any further hurdles before I can setup this account considering all I have done is fill in the online application and I have never been a customer of A&L before.

08000 688638 is the credit card number, but you can navigate (option 2,2,2 from memory) through to ISA's during extended office hours (+ Sat mornings ISTR).0

I signed up last night for an A&L isa. I got the 1st email saying about the huge amount of applications that any delay
would be kept to a minimum.
Three minutes later I got the acceptance email and the account was already viewable online.
Im impressed so far.

Once you get the email containing your ISA account number you can go into your local branch to make the first deposit and start earning interest immediately. Otherwise if you've not already got A&L internet banking it can take several more days to set up.

I had excellent service too, I got an acceptance e-mail in 1hr , the account was set up with an acc No. in 2hrs all by e-mail, and I got the paperwork 2days later... sent off the ISA transfer form and all my previous ISA was transferred 3days later... it went like clockwork... although I am already a customer... still impressed though...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

They transferred your previous ISA in 3 days!? Who were you with? I sent my form off about 2 weeks ago to get my NS&I transferred. Still waiting.0

Unfortunately I called this number and it was a waste of time, regardless of what option I selected the voice mail message requested my customer number, is it at all possible as a potential customer to simply speak to a customer service agent?0
