Free O2 Sim - Strange Happenings!

I've been using my free O2 sim card since 20/07/05. I never topped up on my anniversary date, which was 20/08/05 (I even got a text from O2 saying "we hope you enjoyed your free 30 days allowance") but I'm still getting free calls and text messages. My credit is stuck on £9.85! :j

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, it's happened to me before.

I had a text this month saying that I hadn't topped up by the set date.

I'm on the mixed text and call tariff (100 units per month rather than 300 texts.)
After receiving the warning from 02 my calls have started to be charged, but my texts are still free! :j
  • this used to happen to me when i had the old genie sim cards (now o2) i used to go months without using any credit

    I joined o2 last december.
I used a card bought at one of the shops.
I put on the original £30 and then got a free international bolt on, usually £4.99 one off payment, and free offpeak calls.

I have only topped up once since the and STILL get free off peak calls.
Every month it tells me that I have to top up by a particular date to get next months allowance BUT when I don't do that I still get the free talktime, which I can use for free international calls, (tells you how somewhere on this site); I really can't think what is happening but have no complaints.

I always check before using offpeak for international calls, by making a quick call to my landline, picking up the landline handset and then putting it down after a few seconds so that the call registers and then checking my o2 credit.

As I am payg I don't think there is any way that o2 can recoup what they have, obviously mistakenly, given me is there??

No, the worst they could do is deactivate the SIM card.
