And I bet he's a much safer driver himself .

I bet he's never been able to afford driving lessons (his giro won't stretch to paying for cheap cider, weed, *and* driving lessons) and would probably never have the intellect to pass the theory or practical anyway. His idea of driving is probably nicking a car and then dumping it.

You've got nowt to feel bad about!
  • OH Badger_Lady, thank you, this thread has really given me a smile. I am not smiling at what happenned to you, the guy was completely out of order but I just love all the support you are getting, which you deserve.

I have been in "the states" now for a little over a year and I am so looking forward to coming back home (this site helps me get over my home sickness), this thread reminded me that the UK is a great place, if that had happened here, goodness only knows how it would have turned out! Mind you I don't drive around with my doors unlocked if I go anywhere near a city so at least the guy would have maybe damaged his wrist trying to yank the door open!
If anything I say starts to make sense, PANIC!

Just focus your gaze on the person in the approaching car and STARE at them, STARE at them, STARE at them between the eyes, don't take your gaze off of them .... works everytime.

Unfortunately, stare at them too hard and you miss the pedestrian on the other side of the car! :rotfl:

Yes, this is good advice - I always lock my doors if I'm driving in a rough part of town or anywhere at night. I just didn't feel the "need" to less than a mile from home at 5pm :p. I don't want to be completely paranoid!

  • HI Badger_Lady

I hope you have got over the shock of yesterday.

Just got up and the sun is shining, and better yet no work today, must not sit around and do nothing though (my personal shame: I am getting adicted to this site!), I am supposed to be studying on my "days off", mmmm now where did I put those books...... :rotfl:

Mmmm... unfortunately, I woke up this morning and instantly started weeping again (yes, I know, properly pathetic, me!) so I've phoned into work today - they're very understanding, offered to break his legs for me :)

Feeling a bit numb but I'm sure I'll be recovered after a long bath... I'm due for a voluntary shift at the hospital tonight, among friends, and I've made some dairy-free chocolates for a disabled lady's birthday so there's motivation to get out of bed!
