Cancellation letter to Vodafone
I'm goin to send the standard, I want to cancel my contract letter to voda.
Is it worth my outlining what I would consider to stay with them?
Ive seen a great deal on dialaphone for Anytime 40:
500 free min
500 txt
Free iPod Touch 8Gb
Free Nokia 6300
Free 128Mb memory stick
£65 cashback.
I just called to find out what the best deal Vodafone could offer me was, and they said £25 pm to stay on the tariff I am on (500min Stop the clock, 500 txts), plus Nokia 6500 classic. Thats not as good as the deal above.
To stay with them, I would have to ask to stay on the same tariff for £17.50 a month, since that would account for the £265 I would lose out from not taking the other deal - i.e I can just buy my own iPod touch with the money.
So should I ask for this tariff, explaining why I think its reasonable?
PS I would lose out £60 from quidco, but think its prob a bit much to ask for Vodafone to swallow an extra £60 loss lol!
The reason I am keen to stay is that I want to keep my number, and I like the stop the clock function, otherwise I end up using anything up to 1000min a month!

In March my contract was due to end with Vodafone. I was one of the people who got stung with a cashback deal that I never got any money back from!
So, I decided to cancel my contract, after speaking to loads of diff people - trying to get a good deal to stay with them.
Anyway, when I rang to ask for pac code, they told me no probs and it would come through the post within a week or so. However, within a couple of days someone rang me from the cancellation department and asked what it would take for me to stay, so I told them I wanted half price line rental and a new phone. She said ok.
I got a Samsung G600 - but didn't like it, so returned it and now have a Samsung F490. I get 500 mins and 500 texts a month for £17.50.
When I asked why this hadn't been offered to me in the first place, she told me that the offers could only come from her department.
To get back to your question, it might be worth just asking for your pac code and waiting a week or so to see if they contact you. If they don't your pac code expires after 30 days anyway and your normal contract just continues. I hope this might have been some use to you, sorry it's so long.
Good luck:T0 -
OOo so does this mean I can just ask for my PAC code and not bother with the cancellation letter (its a silly formality to do every year!)?
When should I ask for my PAC code - 1 month before my contract runs out (which is when I would send the letter) or a few days before contract due to end?
Thanks for the useful post, at least its possible to get this tariff at £17.50!We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.
