B&B ISA Transfer

Can anybody best advise me on what to do next?

I had an old branch based B&B Tessa ISA opened in a different city to where I live now. So for convenience and because I assumed (wrongly now) it would be the quickest, I opted for a transfer to a B&B E-ISA.

I posted my application off in the middle of January

Numerous emails and phonecalls since, the original provider (Bingley) sent me a letter in the last week of March saying they had (at last) passed the cheque and docs on and returned my closed account statement showing final amount & interest credited to xx March

Over 2 weeks later, the esavings dept in response to my email said they had still not received the cheque or transfer docs

Today (approaching a further 2 weeks), no more info/contact since, no E-ISA yet set up.

Any ideas on what best to do next? Fed up with it all.

If it were me, I'd raise an official complaint (recorded delivery). They then should reply to you (albeit to say that they'll contact you within a certain amount of time to let you know what their findings are). The point is, that if they haven't resolved your complaint within 8 weeks, you can then refer the matter on to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

bradford and bingley e savings have to be the most inept incompetent bunch i have ever had the misfortune of dealing with - 3 months plus to move an e-isa from issue 1 to issue 3 and still unable to do it - lie to you when you phone and ignore emails completely - i would strongly advise anyone with any money deposited with them to move it elsewhere and hopefully, with ongoing credit crunch, they will either wise up or go down the tubes

my b&b fixed rate isa has just matured so needs a new home. i was going just to lump it into my existing variable rate eISA by online transfer but after some initial misinformation it appears i still need to fill in a form and post it to them. given others posts on here about their inability to complete even internal transfers effectively, i think i'll transfer both to a new provider. some posters have indicated problems transferring to icesave (my first choice) because of incomplete information fom b&b, so maybe i'll give that a miss. has anyone succesfully transferred out of b&b to an ISA with a decent rate and guarantee?

Thanks for the replies and suggestions.

    On the last point there:

Doing my research, I've found that B&B and Icesave internet operations are managed by the same outsourcer i.e. Newcastle Building Society. So that would start to show it's not coincidence.
