Orange 250mb data, is it enough?

Hello all,

I've just sorted out a new deal with orange retentions, 700 minutes, 100 texts, tytn II free and 250mb data for £32.50 a month.

The main reason for moving to a phone like this is because I have found that I need access to internet and email when I'm out and about more and more. The lady from orange told me that 250mb is more than enough for browsing and email but after reading a few posts on different forums I'm not too sure.

I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions.

With this data bundle am I able to go to any website that I want or am I stuck with orange world content?

Would 250mb be enough for checking emails every couple of hours, instant messenger, and browsing internet? mostly I'll be using the phone for email Monday - Friday, it's really only going to be at the weekends when I'm away from the laptop that I'll be using it for internet.

Does anyone know of a site that could calculate how much data is transmitted using internet with a mobile?

Would it be worthwhile paying the extra £5 a month for unlimited weekend browsing?

Thanks

You can access any website you choose. 250MB is plenty, even for quite heavy use. If you stream data (video clips, radio, tv) then you could exhaust 250MB easily although from what you say it's unlikely you'll do this. There are plenty of data montors available, some free, some charged (here's one: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/gprsmonitor/?en ) that will tell you how much data you've used. Also, if you dial 150 and listen to the remaining talk time message, it will also inform you of how much data (GPRS) you have left. Try it for a month and if you need more then get the weekend bundle.
