Speak to your agent & solicitor again re the dates, you will need to check that the chain, if there is one, is ready to go. If the chain is ready, work out a few dates that you would be happy with & tell your solicitor.
Its best if you go and see what has been left, just to make sure its what you were expecting as its a lot easier to get these things sorted before completion, rather than after.0 -
will go and see then, im just trying to be organised really. dont want to go thinking theres a sofa and then get there and there isnt, things like that

might try and ring EA when my boss is out of the office :P
regarding the chain there isnt one, the owner has already moved out so the property is vacant.
what are the dates im asking for called though? i can confused with all the terms like exchange and completion, when we should get the keys etc.
if i didnt have the help of people on here i would be useless!0 -
Exchange is when your signed contract is given to the seller, and his given to you, Everyone is then committed to go through with the deal.
Completion is when you pay the money and receive the house.(keys)
The property being vacant does not mean no chainThis is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
You get the keys on completion, thats the day most people move. When you exchange contracts, this happens before completion, you are legally entitled to purchase the property.
Its best to suggest the completion dates to your solicitor & let them sort out when exchange happens.0
