    Vodafone Contract phones only

All new contract handsets are now network unlocked, and you can request the unlock codes of contract handsets of any age free of charge.

Call 191 give them your IMEI number, aslong as the phone is on the Vodafone database as a contract handset,.....they will Give you the unlock code for free.

Pay as you go = 20£ fee,.

    info from vodafone forum,

I just called Voda to see how I could unlock my Nokia N95 8GB, I expected them to charge me as I am in contract. Apparently Voda have changed their policy now and all phones are to be shipped unlocked.

They will also now give you the unlocking procedure for your phone- you give them the IMEI number and your email address and they send you the full gubbins.

    Worked a treat!
  • Just unlocked my son's second hand Sony Ericsson k750i which I'm guessing was previously on contract or Pay as you go.

Phoned Vodafone on 08700 700 191 (recommended by this site) who provided the Network Unlock Code (NUC) with no hassle. All they wanted to know was the IMEI. The only other thing required was the NUC entry procedure which appeared after a quick Google search - see below

    NUC Procedure

    1. Remove the Vodafone SIM from the handset. Replace the battery and switch on.
2.Move the jog dial left then press the * key twice and then move the jog dial left
    3. Network appears on screen
    4. Then select YES.
    5. NCK will appear – key in NUC and Yes, phone should then be unlocked.
