All in one/learning remote £4.99 at Aldi while stocks last

This has been mentioned before in the thread about the cheap HDD/DVD recorder that Aldi are also doing this week, but I got one of these yesterday and I think it deserves a bit of extra love. It's Tevion branded and comes with a set of Alkaline batteries. The built in codes work pretty much all of my stuff, including my laserdisc player. Best of all it even controls my Aiwa tape deck which wasn't even supplied with a remote! Using the learning function I was able to tweak the setup on some of the kit to get it perfect (especially my AV receiver). The only remote it refused to learn from was my old Pace OnDigital box, which has always been a bit dodgy anyway- it'll still change channels, I just can't get the program guide to display.
All in all, for £4.99 I reckon this is a raging bargain. My local Aldi had them in silver or black- the black looks better but we got a silver as it'll be easier to find. As it's an Aldi weekly special they'll probably only be around until next week so snap one up!

I got 2 of these yesterday in silver. Nearly all black left.
This is also a learning remote, so if you have your original remote it can learn the codes from it even if your equipment is not listed.
I bought a One4all last week for £20 which is no better than this Aldi remote, as they could not get the code I wanted on their expensive 50p/minute helpline. so I will be taking that back to Argos I think0 -
Good point- Tevion advertise a freephone helpline in the Manual( ). This also has a 3 year guarantee I think:).0

However be warned, the "learn" function does not always work.......... certainly with Pace SKY boxes......... otherwise it's a great bargain.Waddle you do eh?0

The only remote of mine that it didn't work with was my Pace digibox. Pace must use a funny design or something. It's a crap digibox anyway TBH, might get a newer and better one at some point.0

If you are talking about the Sky Digibox, I thought they all used the same remote whatever model you have, as they are all made to the same Sky spec. Strange.0 -
Hi there.
I was hoping somebody who has this remote could tell me, does this remote work with sky digital. Meaning can I change the channels, go into the TV guide, Services, Box office etc.
Many thanks.0 -

I bought two yesterday however the 'learn' function does not work with either my Sony or Panasonic Sky boxes. It did however learn from the DVD,Vcr,CD and TV remotes. Very good build quality.0 -
any idea if it will work with a nokia freeview box?
ps i dont have the original nokia remoteummm...0 -

The code i`m using is 278 and this seems to work most things.
TVgiude is accessed using the button above exit0 -
I think I might be using 278- mine is a Pace DVB-T box, with the OnDigital logo on it- I got it Christmas 2000 IIRC, as a 'pay up front' deal. They never asked for it back when they went out of business;). The code is actually listed as OnDigital rather than for Pace satellite (DVB-S) boxes- although some of those codes work similarly.
g33za- I'll have a look in the book when I get home. You could probably buy it, test it, and take it back if it doesn't work, the packaging is pretty much resealable as far as I can tell.0
