We saw betta living in a shopping centre last summer and picked up a brochure as we knew we would get the bedroom done this year. When my other half researched them, it seemed that they had a link with a seperate company that had been on watchdog-I can't remember the details but just that we decided not to bother with them.
The sharps guy we had round didn't pressure us, he was around for about an hour while we ummed and ahhed about the options and asked a million questions. He didn't give us a first price and bring it down, he said he'd given us the baseline price as he wasn't into all the haggling. Now, obviously I don't believe he's given me the complete baseline price, but I had read a lot of reviews where people had been quoted crazy prices and had them slashed to a few grand.
I've had a look at modular bedrooms from B&Q and Wickes, but they just don't look as nice.
If anyone knows of other local companies or has had bedrooms fitted by one in the Croydon area then let me know.
Cheers for all the advice :beer:0 -
quoted 2500 for a straight run of wardrobes, five doors and a narrow bookcase because of a window from Sharps. Got pax wardrobes and a bookcase from IKEA and all the internal fittings for under 500 and a guy to assemble them for 150. They look great and there is 10% off them now
which there wasn`t last month!

Easiest way, is to visit a house building site. Betts, Barrets etc. Talk to the guy who fits the kitchens, bedrooms. You will get a decent price. *kits*are often leftover if you get my meaning.0

Like when we had a bedroom fitted by MFI (freebie with Tesco CC vouchers). We ordered an extra end piece and some cornice, to make a headboard. When the guy had finished and cleared up and gone, I noticed they were missing (they weren't even left with the other stuff!), so I phoned him, and he said he thought they were leftovers and we didn't need them!!! Did we want him to come all the way back with them??!!0
