LG U990 Viewty on 3

I'm looking to get an LG U990 Viewty on 3 so I can take advantage of their fast 3G internet access. They want to charge me £32 for 500 Units (minutes or text) and unlimted internet access. I am with O2 at the moment and they can give me 600 minutes and 1000 texts plus unlimited Internet access for £30 a month. I'm not too fussed about all those minutes and text so that's not a major issue, the thing I don't like about O2 is that they don't have good, fast coverage where I am (Glagsow), it's not 3G or HSDPA which is why I would like to go to 3.
Anyone got any idea how I can get the price down a bit? I spoke to someone online from 3 but they said that was the best they could do..
Thanks
Dave

Just off the phone to O2 (at the carphone warehouse) to get my PAC code and they have told me that I have to write in to get it and send it recorded delivery. What a hassle! They also said that 3 network piggybacks off the O2 network so there is no way I would get a faster download speed on 3. I told them as far as I was aware 3 only went onto the O2 network when you were not in range of their own network anymore. She said no, they use O2 for all their network use and don't have their own network.. can't help feeling this is wrong and said so but she was insistant.. Have I been lied to?!?0

She is very much mistaken. They only used O2 when not in a 3G signal area. Also they have changed to Orange now although some older contracts might not have changed over from O2 yet.
I'd try phoning again and asking a different representitive for the pac.0 -
yes, three have there own 3g network that is used for all data and calls or texts etc. When you are not in range of three's own network you will roam onto oranges network but 2g only. It used to roam on to the o2 network however that partnership dissolved last year. When roaming on 3g for a data connection if you go out of range on data it now piggybacks on t mobiles 3g data network and vice versa. So yes she did lie to you. hope this helps0

As for getting the price down, go via quidco and get £47.50 cash back. I would also go via refer a mate and get £30 back both for yourself and the refer however as a warning some quidco member said there cash back did not track due to using the refer a friend scheme. I have used both and not had a problem but as already said its up to you.0

Thanks folks that's good info. Thought she was talking crap! Rapidly becoming a frustrated carphonewarehouse customer. I have talk talk in the house but think I might move away from them too, not happy with how they make you jump through hoops to do anything!
I am going to send off my letter tomorrow for my PAC code and then once that comes through I'll put in my order with 3 via quidco.

Actually, she was talking more nonsense than usual. 3 stopped using O2's network at least 2 years ago - if theire's no 3G coverage, 3's phones will switch to the ORANGE network for coverage (2.5G only)0

Sorted now thanks to Finlay.0
