New radiators

Want to buy some double radiators in a month or so to replace two large ones and a small one for the bathroom. They are going a little rusty round the joints and the bottom of the radiator. Where is the cheapest place to buy them, is it B & Q?? Or should I get a plumbers quote to buy the radiators, fit them and fit thermostatic valves to all the radiators.

I would doubt if B&Q are the cheapest (admittedly, I've not priced up)- if your are paying a plumber to do thwe work ask him where they would buy from and either buy from there of through your plumber.
Alternatives may be places like screwfix.com or other online places - google the sizes you are looking for i.e. 1200 double radiator and see what comes up

I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.:cool:0 -

Hi B & Q are generally quite competitive on prices as are Screwfix. Also try Plumb Centre or similar and ask for there best price. I am in the trade and you cannot get them much cheaper than the public anymore. You should fit TRV's if you are replacing the radiators as you will already have done half the job. HTH0 -

thanks muteposting I have ordered the screwfix catalogue. I have to measure the radiators first. One radiator in my daughters room is too long and it needs a smaller one. How do you work out the size you need, is it something to do with the dimensions of the room. Once I know that I can check all the radiators are the correct sizes.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -
This website has a heat output calculator. http://www.theradiatorcompany.com/heatoutput/thanks muteposting I have ordered the screwfix catalogue. I have to measure the radiators first. Their prices are not the cheapest on the market, but they offer very good quality radiators.Manners make the man...:D0 -
i don't know the exact calculation, but I'm sure it takes into account the volume of the room, size of any windows (possibly direction) and use of the room.
