thanks for the positive feedback. got some great ideas.
the hall i can borrow has little tables and chairs so they will definatley be useful. i also know someone who hires out bouncey castles, shes had her last few from them.
i was thinking of hiring a fire engine which takes the kids for a ride and them you have a massive water fight!!! (will check the cost first).
i just wanted to do something different from all the parties shes been going to latley, thats why i posted a message hoping to get some great ideas.
i guess i did eventually!!! (thanks you know wo you are).
actually sorry to be going on, she does love crafting so ill see what i can come up with. xxxx0 -

my little girls birthday is in july (i know im early) and she wants the whole of her nursery class to be there!!!
for the last few years she has had a bouncy castle in the garden with 10 ish kids. as the weather is always nice.
shes not very girly (but loves dancing) so does anyone have and party ideas? i can get a local hall for around £30, but i dont know what to do entertainment wise.
also im not made of money so had anyone got any ideas for party bag gifts etc, or where to get good deals on things.
i want to make it special for her, as her brother and sisters birthdays are within days of each other (which upset her last time as she wanted hers!!). also she has a heart problem, but has made great progress over the last 6 months.
thanks all
Couldnt you ask the Mums if one of their little ones has a birthday soon, prehaps, you could half the cost by having a shared one. If not, Dont hire a hall, invite less children and do a party at home.;)

Hi,
my dd had a joint birthday party last year with one of her friends - the whole class was invited plus other friends. We hired a council run community hall with bouncy castle andride on toys. The catering was split between the two families. It was one of the lowest stress, and possibly cheapest party that I have ever done - I had a great time - so did dd! Do you have anything like this near you?
Now party bags are a pet hate of mine so we bought a load of books from the book people, buying in packs of 10 they work out at about £1 each, and wrapped them up and each child had a bok and a piece of cake to go home with.
Food wise for my ds I have done chips with nuggets/sausages and pizza that went down really well with very little waste.
Hope you have a great day whatever you decide to do!

There is alot less waste if you do each child a plate of party food instead of a bufffet style where they help themselves. Also costco cakes are only £12 and will be enough for the whole class if you are a member or if someone you know is.
Instead of a party bag you could send each child home with a bottle of bubbles about 39p, a balloon each and a piece of birthday cake. When you are inviting so many I think that is sufficient.
I hope she has a great time.0 -
Hi
My daughter (now 11) had a party like this when she was four, we didnt even have to hire the hall they gave it us for free, she invited all of her class, I did a buffett which went down really well, I hired a clown who did 1 hour of clown fun and 1 hour disco, the kids had a brill time. It was a one off for her, she has never asked for a big party since so I dont think you would be setting yourself up for it every year. Hope this helps.0 -
its nice to see sooo many lovely people on here!!! thanks you guys xxx0

I agree that the little ones love bubbles, at the nursery where I work they are the childrens favourite prizes (they get to choose) and I bought some in poundland yesterday you get 9 tubs in one package so only 11p each. Good luck with everything, let us know what you decide to do.If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0

Hi Lissileigh i was thinking about this and how about this.. you could ask all the kids to wear their oldest clothes, buy some paper plates and some water paint and let them loose "decorating" their plates with a tiny "prize" for each child (so they don't feel left out - something really small e.g a pencil). If you have any pound shops near you they usually stock cheaper items. Or you could get some cheap rolls of paper and let them loose on that either. If you have some more money you could get each child a plain white t-shirt or pillowslip and let them decorate them with material paint but I would recommend that this be done in batches and also the use of aprons too!!! See if someone you know is good at entertaining kids while you are overseeing the painting. Hope this is of some use for you....Good Luck!!!!!Scaryfairy :EasterBun

also, just a thought, kids really love playdough so you could have a table set up with cheap cutters, sequins and stuff and they could make their own bugs or other creations to take home and dont buy the playdough make your own. You don't even have to cook it, just use cheap flour and salt mixed together with food colouring, water and a little oil to keep it moist. easy and cheapIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0
