Transfer number from PAYGO to Monthly

I currently using O2 'pay as you go' and planning to move to 'Contract'. I want to keep my number.
I want to know the procedure on how I can keep my 'pay as you go' number in the new monthly contract as well? Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

  • It's a fairly simple procedure - in fact if you stay with the same network it should be done automatically on purchase - you just need to request to keep the number. If not, you need to call the customer service and ask for them to arrange that.

If you change your networks, you'll need your old provider to give you a PAC code, which then you give to the new provider - they file your request and after about a week the transition is done. Not sure if it's any easier if you stay with the same network...

I did just that with O2 but they managed to take 3 weeks to do it. However, they gave me a "tenner" credit for the inconvenience!!
Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
