I said that without moving my lips, Kazzea!!
Here's today's crossword solution:Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930 -
Nah I just managed to see your lips move0

Now bear with me here ...
Sad geezer that I am, I was just looking at the website of TV shopping channel OneTV (https://www.onetv.co.uk). The channel offers a sort of discount card at a cost of £10. One of the discounts involves Love2Shop vouchers. This is what the site says:
As a One TV Shopping cardholder, you are entitled to a 7% discount (when paying by debit card or cheque) on High Street Vouchers. Just telephone 0800 587 88** (Monday to Friday) to place your order.
Please note, orders placed before 4.30pm on a Thursday will be received within one week (orders placed after this time may take up to 10 days). You will be informed of the relevant postage charge when you place your order.
High Street Vouchers are multi-retailer vouchers, accepted at all stores listed below. Vouchers are available in denominations of £1, £5 and £10. Why not surprise a friend or relative by giving High Street Vouchers as a gift?
Any questions? Just call 0800 587 88**.
Example of potential saving – Comet price for a washing machine: £400. With vouchers you pay just £372 (plus £4.20 postage)!
Note that the phone numbers shown are for cardholders only, so to stop the odd nitwit ringing anyway, I have blanked out some of the digits, though obviously they are on show at the channel's website.
I assume that when customers order these vouchers, and they want £400-worth to buy their washer, they get vouchers to that face value, but pay the £372 plus p&p.
So ... how much are PB paying for them, as they buy them in bulk???
Say they get 10% off ... They therefore buy a £10 voucher for £9 and then pass it on to us for 1150 points, £11.50. A tidy gain of £2.50 per voucher.
Now who was still feeling sorry about clicking on so many ads and comps on their site??!!Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930 -
Can anyone tell me is the site working properly today? I logged on and then tried to do a quiz and the site kept redirecting me to log in again and again, does anyone else have this problem? or is it just me?0
