Thanks for that link, but would you personally recommend buying something like a laptop off ebay? I'm a little uneasy about it.0

spottybotty wrote:All sounds to be going very well Northtim... I've still got nearly two weeks to wait for mine to arrive, so when it does, I'll let you know how I go -going to be setting it up myself, that'll be fun lol
Setting up was very easy. however I am a bit nosey so did pop the side panel off first and notice the power supply to HDD was loose. That sort of thing can happen in transit so don't panic if you get a problem!
Other than that just plug it together and switch it on (there is a main on/off on the rear - don't forget that) and it runs through the win XP set up prompting you for what is needed. I recommedn just setting it up for one user at that stage and adding more later if you think you will need them, makes it much less complicated.
Would rather I was at home today, got Half-life 2 to load up0 -

Taking the panel off, er doesnt that immediately invalidate your warranty.
Void if sticker removed or tampered with?0 -

Void if sticker removed or tampered with?Hope not - no stickers or anything, I just meant the side panel of the case. Can't see what that would affect. I don't think I saw any stickers on any components in there either so sure it is fine. I was glad I looked as would have had a case of the sweats if the first time I turned it on the HDD was unplugged!

Yep they should have one of those Silver Void if removed stickers
on the side of the case like on this link, you must of missed it.

Nope! No stickers - honest! How you can void a warranty by taking off a side panel to replace a loose power connector is beyond me....
....unless it is a ploy, they did it on purpose and now they know that as my computer is working I have looked inside :rotfl:
No - think you are being paranoid here Mr S. Maybe some manufacturers have stickers but not on this occasion.0 -
Well I reckon you are very lucky not to have that sticker and paranoia has
nothing to do with it as I have fixed 1000s of PCs Ive never had one
without the sticker. http://www.pcformat.co.uk/tips/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=10611&subsectionid=688&subsubsectionid=4880 -
My PC doesn't have a sticker
and it's only a few months old
That, is an excellent question...0
