  • Ok, firstly, a BIG thankyou to everyone that took the time to read about me feeling sorry for myself :o , and your suggestions, I've been so stupid, i know there are plenty in worse situations than me so i want to apologise :A to all the wonderful people on here. xx

I've got the kids to help me to get together bits for a bootsale on Sunday, can't usually do them as my youngest plays football and ALWAYS on a sunday, however, this weekend, they have a tournament and it's Saturday, sooo, that leaves Sunday bootsale day free! yipee :j

Not sure if we've got anything worth selling but im making some bits and bobs and i've done a few canvas paintings, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm nagging quidco for the money that's stagnant, they just dont seem to be paying up recently

My car has finally got it's value through from the insurance, and that'l be coming next week, it's better than i thought it would be to be honest, but not enough for me to replace with the same, but, i'll just hold onto it for as long as i can before im desperate to buy a new car, and just get whatever i can afford!
So big thankyou everyone, sorry for being so down :o xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Do you not get free school dinners for the children? that would save the £5.
    regards

    Hi:j

You have nothing to apologise for..we are still here to help you if you need us. I am pleased to read that you are taking positive steps and you are doing a carboot sale, its a shame I don't live closer, I have loads of toot in the garage crying out to be carbooted, but my OH is on overtime for the forseeable weekends:T , and he has the car, never mind.

I hope all goes well on Sunday, let us know how you get on, my only tip is price to sell, don't price too highly otherwise you may end up not making the boot fare entrance fee, like my sister..bless.

  • I just wanted to post an update to all the wonderful people that helped me with advice on here, im still struggling but have survived...lol

As I was clearly down to a bare minimum I plodded on and I'm nearly there now with being able to afford a daily lifestyle, a frugle one at that but one which we all have got used to!

I have two wonderful boys who now help out a lot more with their part time jobs, it's always a struggle and when I originally posted I couldn't cope with the struggle...now I do, we all do and it's just part of life, you are a wonderful group in this forum and I shall spend more time here from now on. :o
  • Nobody could expect you to get rid of your cats, they are a part of your family!

I sometimes draw/ paint pet portraits for people, I put an advert up (for free) at the local vets, could this be an option? Or maybe people portraits (I can't draw people so sadly not an option for me!!)

I think you possibly could cut down your food bills to get you into positive figures each month. I have a family of 5 and spend £160 per month on ALL shopping. Food/drinks for brekkies/packed lunches/home cooked meals, cleaning supplies PLUS nappies for 2 babies! It really can be done if you are VERY organised and strict about it and make time to do a LOT of cooking.

Also - you pay for TV? I would stop this and just use Freeview ASAP.

You're doing well - stick in there!

Hi - have just read your thread and didn't realise it was from 2008, until reading you latest post.

I'm so pleased things seem to be sorting themselves out, and hope it continues

All the best to you and your boys
