Apartheid is a specifically South African Boer term with a specific connotation. Referring to apartheid is specifically invoking a spectre to make an association, i.e. it's a rhetorical trick.

    Hi Tim,

For me Grammar schools feeling like educational apartheid. I'm not trying to use emotional words just for effect, that is how I honestly feel. I don't believe separating children is a good idea. For this reason I would not use a faith school either. So there you go - another can of worms opened.:o

No, I think it just goes to show that each to their own, we all have different opinions, and despite much discussion, none of us seem to have converted, so that might well be it!! :)

Funnily enough I mentioned this adage earlier and I disagree with it.
You don't always get what you pay for.

Just like I book DIY hols on line, fly easyjet and book my hotel at half the price of going through a travel agent for exactly the same holiday
Like I buy a pair of pants and a top at primark for a quarter of the price in top shop.
Like i can go to sports direct and get a pair of trainers for half the price the same ones are in JD or JBB
A tin of heinz baked beans can vary from asda to tesco to somerfield.

I've also had internet access for the past five years for an average of £2 a month unlimited :D
Sadly though I have been rumbled, all good things come to an end! LOL:rotfl:

Even though it could be the worst thing you ever did (or didn't do) for your children?

(I'm not saying that it would be, but just that it could be.)

    Yes I do agree here

I wouldn't turn a million quid down. It'd set my kids up for life, and goodness knows how they'll find the cash to buy a house the price of them today. Future mums will HAVE to work i think or they won't get a mortgage

And you could always change their schools back once you had your million in the bank!

    There, there Rikki...:D
Isn't it what we always do anyway?

At least you can't complain about the lack of passion.
Which is a good thing really, because if nobody cared about education, things would be even worse.:p
