What are your luxuries?

£22.50 per month for my gym membership. Having spent the last 12 yrs severly overweight the lb's are finally dropping off. I have dropped almost 5 dress sizes and almost 4st in weight since January 2005. Luxury or neccessity ? For me it comes under both. Neccessity for my health but luxury because its MY time.
My only other extravagance is having my hair done every 10 weeks at a cost of £45. For me, having my hair done is my confidence boost.
Since losing weight and gaining confidence in myself I finally feel as though I have joined the human race at last rather than being an observer. :j0 -

... is it a luxury to own it, or to own it and use it? As in, do you take off the price tags and render it no longer as BNIB?
I've an awful habit of buying designer stuff - or having it bought for me as presents, yet don't use it until a "Sunday Best" day appears ...
... it rarely does
Does "classic" mean as I think (but forgot as I was reading) .... "used"?
I just mean the main LV designs with the dark drown leather monogram (is that what you call it), handbags/ purses which aren't likely to date. I use to have a bit of a handbag collection but haven't brought an expensive one for at least 2 years. Funnily enough it is the same amount of time I've been married and moved out of my parents. Might explain why I no longer have the spare cash to justify such purchases.Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)

My OH has 'social phobia' and we have a cleaner come in for 3 hours a week.
It's really awful. When he does have to talk to people GP/consultants/social worker etc etc he comes across as a bumbling idiot who cannot speak properly. Not a man who, before his illness, was a middle-manager in charge of 350 people and was working towards his doctorate.
Hi Zziggi, thought I would reply to say I have social phobia/anxiety as well - I can just about function ok at work (although come across as 'quiet' to work colleagues, but I would LOVE to work from home as it would be a lot less stressful for me), but find situations where I have to 'interact' with new people awful... I have to psych myself up to answer the phone or door - if I don't feel up to facing people, then I ignore it!
Also have a problem with authority figures - bosses, doctors etc, can't seem to get my point across at all and just get embarrassed and slope off to hide somewhere. So I really sympathise with you and your OH (my boyfriend gets exasperated with me sometimes when I don't want to go out to parties etc, but has accepted this is how I am). If anyone wants to PM me to talk about social phobia, please feel free.
Returning to original post, my luxuries are decent mature cheddar cheese, a big tub of natural organic yoghurt and an Xbox or PC game - around one game a month. Also, concert tickets to see my favourite bands, but there are about 5 bands I want to see this year, and can only afford oneDecisions...
Also, during the winter, I love curling up in the evenings with boyfriend, proper hot chocolate, popcorn and a good DVD rental once or twice a week. Oh yes and the very occasional tipple of Archer's Peach Schnapps or Baileys!0 -

Ooooh I forgot about loo paper! A couple of month's back Tesco were selling Andrex quilted stuff at half price (98p for 4 rolls) so I bought half a dozen packs (even though the previous week I'd already bought a pack of 16 Tesco luxury ones on offer)
I have to say that the quilted loo roll is fantastic and I don't really want to go back to using the ordinary stuff but unless it's on offer again I don't really want to fork out almost £2 for a pack of 4. The good thing about it is you don't need to use as much because it's so thick you can manage with just a couple of squares instead of a whole bunch of ordinary stuff, but it's a hard habit to break not tearing off loads, especially trying to tell kids not to, so it will get used quicker if used like ordinary loo roll as there's not as many sheets to a roll

Thanks sans
I just wondered if it kept its value? I've bought LV for my daughter, (can't believe the cost), but it get's used so at least it serves a purpose
I'm a sucker for handbags too - Suzy Smith - which I buy and look at lol. Not very moneysaving is it? I'd love to buy Lulu Guinness - that'd be a real luxury - but everything's so costly I'd probably keep the labels on those too and look at them sitting on a shelf
Getting married seems to have it's disadvantages too0 -
My luxuries are -
Nice, matching undies (not necessarily expensive, but I like things to match)
Aromatherapy oils - Lavender is my favourite
Clinique cosmetics - but I am allergic to a lot of brands, this is the only one I have never had a problem with
My water bed - the best night's sleep ever! - and my orthopaedic neck pillow
My PC / internet access
Books - I am a read-a-holic, life without books would be pointless!
My diswhwasher (I don't "do pots"!)
I feel quite decadent with some of these but my excuse is that I'm a Libra!!!

£14.99 for my online DVD rental, and between £10-£25 a month on CD's and DVD's, but i do buy online from Play.com and CDWow as they seem to be the cheapest and i get cashback for the items i buy through Greasy Palm.
And probably the £50 a month i pay on pet food (1 Dog, 3 Cats, 2 Rats) and a bottle of wine every Friday and Saturday night and at least 2 take-aways a month.
That's actually quite a lot of luxuries.Hopeful-but-Doubtful:beer:

Hi
I agree with decent cosmetics (rarely go out..lol) but if need make-up I usually get Estee Lauder, Clinique etc. Always buy off ebay and get the samplers which are over half the size of the normal product at a fraction of the cost
My mum when she goes on her regular travels picks up tons of posh cosmetics for me either duty free or cheap over there (normally USA). When she came back a few weeks back, she had bought me the new perfume "be delicious" by DKNY. It is a huge 100ml bottle and is devine but over here in Boots half this size is £30
I do like nice perfume but wouldnt buy at the moment as we havent the income like we used too. I do have alot though and have recently had a clear out and sold quite abit on ebay and made good money from itMum also bought me some blemish corrector pens (3). She does love spending her money and dont mind of she wants to spend it on me
