That reminds of a programme I saw on tv the other day, think it's called Mum and Dad's bank or something and the daughter this week was spending a fortune on designer cosmetics
Anyway, they took her and her make-up along to a professional make-up artist who did half her face up in her own expensive stuff then the other half in cheaper high street store stuff in the same shades.
Guess what - she actually preferred the look and feel of the cheaper lot, although there didn't seem to be much in it! And the make-up artist told her that they're basically the same products but you're paying extra just for packaging and the name with the designer stuff"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I think my whole makeup basket is Collection 2000 which is about as cheap as it getsOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
If we're talking luxuries on the food/drink side of things, I now try to buy organic produce wherever possible, especially fruit/veg and eggs/dairy, and with meat, poultry and fish etc I'll at least opt for free range if I can't obtain or afford organic.
I also can't resist buying proper [size=-1]Parmigiano Reggiano parmesan but use it quite sparingly as it's expensive! (something like £20 a kg  ) Could never contemplate using the dried tub stuff again though YUK!

I can't remember the last time I actually bought any make-up (probably 2-3 yrs ago when I was an Avon rep for a while) and I should imagine most of it's gone off by now
(I still have stuff in my drawer from when I was a teenager :shhh: )
