Hope the hip eases soon.
Don't spend too much in th cheap shop - it is easy to get carried away when you think things are good value, and you suddenly find you have spent more than you intended on stuff you really didn't need!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I know what you mean Hypno, it took me all my strength to resist some candles that I saw in there that would have been perfect for one SIL for Christmas.
I did okay though, I spent £3.10 on the market and £8 in the cheap shop. I got lots of toothpaste to last us for the next couple of months and some flannels as I noticed this morning that the one DD uses was getting holey
In Boots I got the kids stuff and found a gift card that had 53p left on it so used that up and only spent £4.55 but will last the kids for a while.0 -
Afternoon All,
I thought I’d just pop in and say hello. It’s DD’s 2nd Birthday today and she is having a great day and got lots of presents and money, we are going to put half of her birthday money in her bank account and the other half towards something that she needs….socks come to mind
Anyway, I had my scan this morning, which wasn’t as scary as I thought it was going to be; I must confess that I felt like a big ‘Smartie’ when I was being pushed into the tube :rotfl: at least it’s done with now and I just need to wait and see what the consultant says next Tuesday evening.
On to today, I did spend some money. I spent £9 at Tesco’s on the way home; I got DD some chocolate mouse and some yogurts and two bottles of cheap wine a thank you’s for the friends that helped today.
The shopping is being delivered this afternoon and I still have washing to do.
DH is working on site again tomorrow but has the rest of the weekend off.
On a bad note, I booked my car in for a service only to find out that my MOT ran out three months ago…I spent most of yesterday afternoon trying to find a garage that would do it, anyway it is now sorted but we are now £53 lighter
I have no idea how much the service will cost next week but I feel that this month may not go quite to plan. 0 -
Just spoke to DH and he just told me that he has redeemed £10 from Lightspeed :j I know it's not much but it'll go towards next Christmas.0

Morning all,
How bad is this? I want it to be the 15th September (when DH gets paid) already as I want to see the loan go down again! Oh hum, no point rushing these things I guess.
Got a lot to do today so won’t really be online much.
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning All,
Feel slightly hungover this morning, had a pleasant evening with a couple of friends but drank waaayyy too much.
Starting from next week, I am going to cut down on drinking again. I feel that this will help to cut our debt down a bit and will make me feel a whole lot better, especially considering how low I feel some mornings because of my hip.
Also I checked Valued Opinions and both DH and I have got £5...so we need to crack on with the surveys that they send and redeem the money, would come in handy for Christmas this year if we can get that close.
This week, I need to get DH's niece a birthday card and put some money in it and got to go to Boots for nappies, I am going to use my points for the nappies
Plus it's DS's last week at pre-school and two weeks before we go on holiday, so have to get planning.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Happy new week…
A fairly busy day planned this week, it’s DS’s last week at pre-school and he’s starting football on Fridays with his friend, I don’t know how much that is going to cost yet but I doubt it’ll be much.
On to the rest of today, I have to drop DH’s work laptop off to him at work as he forgot it and I have the following:- Bank DD’s birthday money
- Housework
- Surveys & clicks that come in
- Make dinner for tonight
Oh and I go back and see the consultant tonight to find out the results of my scan.0 -
Just an update.
I have been to the bank and paid in DD’s birthday money and gone to site to drop off DH’s laptop, I have also done the Piggyclicks for myself and DH.
I have also got a £2 coin from DH that has gone into the terramundi and I found a bit of change on his bedside cabinet so that has gone in the demi-john, both are filling up nicely.
DH’s Pigsback account: 735 points
My Pigsback account: 893 points
DH Valued Opinions: £5
My Valued Opinions: £5
DH Lightspeed: 25 points - £10 redeemed
My Lightspeed: 145 points
I went to Morrison’s this morning to get a few bits and spent £6; I now have £9 left in my purse to last me until Friday. I will need some of it for the market on Thursday when I get the fruit and veg but don’t need to buy any apples as BIL dropped a load off over the weekend :T
I also need to buy a birthday card for DH's niece this week.
I have three books listed on Amazon but am going to list a few more on there that we don’t need.
That’s all folks! Off to do some housework and I’ll catch up again tomorrow.0 -
Afternoon,
I figured that I should update on things so I keep on track.
Today was going to be a NSD however we needed some milk so spent £1.44 there.
We have been to the park this morning and I have made dinner for tonight and the kids had the same for lunch this afternoon, so killed two birds with one stone there as they say.
Went to see the Consultant last night and all is not as well as I would like; he has stated that my slipped disc is worse than first thought and that Physio and injections wouldn’t work as it is too far gone and therefore surgery will be the best way to deal with it. Any how, I have four weeks to see how I progress with the pain in my hip; personally I think I over did it yesterday as my hip is agony today
We are hoping that DH’s work healthcare will pay for it, no reason why not but will need to ring them to get it authorised first…DH said he’d sell the house if it came to it; despite him not wanting me to go for it.
Got to take the car for its service tomorrow, that’ll be expensive but needs doing and then there’s the market for the veg and fruit and a card from the shop. Friday will be a NSD apart from the shopping being delivered.0 -
If anything can go wrong it usually does big time!
After finding out that I need an operation to cure the problem with my slipped disc; I took my car into Toyota for it’s annual service as the car is paid for outright we thought it would be a good idea to keep going there in case we ever decide to sell it in the future….Wrong move!!!
The service on the car is going to cost us £600  What a blooming rip off! So I have had to transfer the money out of the Christmas fund to cover it and start again with that.
I think that for next years service we will look around and go some place else, DH and I are mortified! The last service last year cost £300 which was bad enough!
I am now just waiting for number three now or was that the fact that I forgot about the MOT the other week??????
On the upside though…I only spent £3.50 at the market and £9 in Sainsbury’s and got stuff for dinner and DS’s pre-school tomorrow to say Thank You and Good Bye.0
