Moral of the story. Don't mess with physics. Anyway, I'm off to gather firewood.

Hi there,
I am sorry that there are some who think this paint doesn't work or is Dodgy. It was my mum who found out about it first and through using it in her self catering units managed to wipe out the condensation and mildew problem which had existed there. We too, on an outside wall, behind the sofa had the horrid black mildew forming and we used the paint in our sitting room. Its worked, the room is noticeably warmer and indeed the problem we had has been eradicated.
We then recently redid our bathroom and we did in there as my husband enjoys long hot showers which causes a lot of condensation on the walls. As a result of using this paint there is a marked reduction in the condensation.
It is a product I frequently recommend to friends and I am having work done in the bathroom of a tenanted property and this paint shall be used there too.
Have a look at their own website as it explains how the whole process works.

The new NASA nanotechnology ceramic spheres available in some coatings IS valid, proven and used all over the USA and countries around the tropics. The 'up to' 25% saving is not entirley sold right and used as a sales ploy in the UK.. The ACTUAL heat saving is 25% less heat loss than standard paints when readings are taken from one side of the substrate (ie if you pait a piece of wood, the heat will not pass through as much as standard paints. 70% heat reflection from outsde sources, (THE SUN) is normal as that is what the technology was based around. if you have a non insulated roof for example, get 130 degrees wth sunshine all day, you will see a saving in AIR-CON costs. THERE WILL BE SO LITTLE REDUCTION IN HEAT SAVING IT WILL NOT JUSTIFY THE COMPANIES 25% PROMISE. THATS WHY THEy NORMALLY STATE 'ENERGY COSTS' RATHET THAN HEATING COSTS.0

If you put insulating paint on the radiators then they should be cold to the touch as the insulation will be keeping the heat in!!
so sounds like it might work after all! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Hi, I was looking for some way improving the insulation in our single brick property. The rear north facing room is bloomin' freezing. Even after fitting double glazing. Saw the post whilst on a search for info on the Starlite stuff by Maurice Ward. I remember seeing it on Tomorrows World. Any way I bought some of this Thermalite powder additive since it was only £20. Not a lot to risk. Now incredibly the back roomi is the warmest room. Over the cold snap we were all in there. If you a hand on a non painted wall and reach over to a painted wall you can definitley feel the difference. Didn't like the powdery feel to the finished wall though so I have since papered over it.0
