thermalite insulating paint

Options
Has anyone used a product called Thermalite Insulating Paint. It claims to
give up to a 25% reduction in heat loss through internal and external walls, ceilings and roofs. I can't find any blog about this product only sights selling it. Is it for real or just a con?

Thermalite is a trade name and a BIG trade name at that

the article rdpro just posted calls it thermilate

If it had been Thermalite, I'd have said it would probably work, however if its some firm trying a clever work on another name then I'd deff say bin it off

Thermalite is the trade name for a type of building block (aka cinderblock/breezeblock) - someone's nabbed Thermilate as a paint additive that certainly seems worthy of a Watchdog report, seeing as they don't/can't/won't backup their 'findings'

I googled the OP's original wording with a few wildcards to fill in any errors in spelling.

    It's a load of bull.

If there was a miracle product that did this, it would be in every tin of paint and everyone would be building everything using thin sheet materials coated with this magic paint.

It sounds like magic. Seriously, I'd coat everything in four layers of it and make rooms bigger if it worked. I'd probably sleep under it too.

    It won't work.

I used am insulating paint a few years ago on the outside wall of my lounge. Can't say it made a blind bit of difference!

I can see you like that product David you all your posts praise how good it is

PS is your surname Page by chance?
  • I made the mistake of putting some in the paint I was using to refurbish the radiators. Now even with the heating on max the radiators are cold to the touch. In fact turning up the thermostat causes the room to get colder.

Moral of the story. Don't mess with physics. Anyway, I'm off to gather firewood.
