Vodafone can be a joke sometimes

Had the Vodafone v810 phone since October, from the Vodafone store for £70.

It broke in November, the screen kept going totally white, sometimes it wouldnt turn on, several keys broke.

They accepted it for repair under the warranty.

Early March. It breaks again. This time, I go to get it repaired, and am told because there is damage to the keys (NOT my fault, it ISN'T my fault these keys break so easily, and are poorly made) they would require £40 to replace/repair the handset. I said no way and walked away.

A few days later, the phone seems to have sorted itself out, it works. Sometimes it has its moments (the very same problem as what happened in November). I'm using this handset still at the moment, but have an old one here if it decides to play up again.

Seriously unhappy about the quality of this handset, and the fact I'm being asked to pay when its down to poor manufacturering.

I sent an email to the Vodafone customer services, asked the question if I can get a full refund (because as far as I thought, after the first 14 or 28 days of the purchase, you can't). The reply back was simply go and ask them in the store I got it from, and they can see what they can do.

My point is, I have already tried. I refuse to pay £40 to have it repaired, for it to break AGAIN. This is twice since October, every single other phone I had in my life hasn't been as bad as this.

Does anybody know what I can do? Both Customer Services and their forum say I will not be able to get an upgrade and paying for the repair is my only option.

Just wondered if anybody had any thoughts on it, or ideas I can try.
