Sims 2 on pc

My kids had to uninstall SIms 2 from their PC. We need to reinstall it but have lost the pamphlet that came wit the discs so are missing the code needed to enter when installing it.
Can anyone let me have a code number please so I can stop the boys from complaining and we can load it on?? (even though of course it was them that lost it in the first place!! lol)
Thanks for helping my sanity!

I've a feeling we've got that game Cindy so when my son eventually emerges from his pit I'll ask him for the code for you :)

This might be of some help
Ways to Retrieve Your Serial Number

    The Registry

Check the registry to see if the key code is still there. Even if you uninstalled the game, an entry with the serial number may still be there. It is very important that you are careful not to delete any of the entries while in the registry, you may cause problems getting your other programs to run.

For Windows users, go to Start, and then Run.

Type in regedit and click OK. The registry will open, and you will need to run a search (ctrl - f) for the title of your game. You probably won't find the serial number in the first entry so hit F3 to continue the search. If you look in the data column, you may see a long string of numbers and letters that looks like a serial number. Write it down and save it.

    Help from the Publisher
If you cannot get the key from the registry, you next step is to contact the tech support from the developer or publisher. They should be able to help you. You may need to prove that you bought the game, like sending in a scanned image of your CD. You should also check to see if you had to enter your serial number when you registered on the game's website.

Ah, sorry to say I jumped the gun a bit here (should have checked before posting :o ) and have been reliably informed we don't have Sims 2 but that it would make an excellent xmas present should I wish to buy it LOL!

Well, we have got several of the Sims games so how am I meant to know exactly what each of them are

Sorry hun, hope I didn't build your hopes up there :(

not sure if this does the sims2

Your dog ate your jewel case? Here's the solution.
The KILLERSIMS CD Key Retriever software scans your computer for the CD Key information from the back of the jewel cases of the EA MAXIS Game The Sims and the expansion packs. This is not a hacking tool and only scans your local machine for information that has been entered by you when you installed the game.

    1. . Select Run from the Start Menu
    2. b. Type - regedit and click OK
    3. c. For The Sims go to: Hkey Local Machine/Software/Electronic Arts/Maxis/The Sims/ergc
    4. d. For Living Large go to: Hkey Local Machine/Software/Electronic Arts/Maxis/The Sims Livin' Large/ergc
    5. e. For House Party go to: Hkey Local Machine/Software/Electronic Arts/Maxis/The Sims House Party/ergc
    6. f. On the right side you will see a file called default. Double click that and there's your registration key!
    7. If all else fails, you'll have to contact Electronic Arts about a serial replacement.
this example is for the sims but the principle is the same for the Sims2

Have you tried working through the same steps Browntoa posted above, only looking in the relevant file for Harry Potter?
