We all know that debt can get out of control but you know what - it's just one of those things.

thats the lamest justification so far!! "Its just one of those things." Brilliant! What else can one get out of by using this line??

You have no idea what the level of my debt was, what I spent the money on or whether or not I could afford to repay it.
For your information - I have now completely paid off ALL OF MY DEBT IN FULL.
The issue I have, as I have said but you seem to ignore, is that what these companies are offering is a LEGAL service so it's our choice if we wanted to try & right off the debt but how the companies are choosing to practice is ILLEGAL. That's the sole issue.
Of course I racked up the debt & in an ideal world would just live within my means but hey, I was offered a legal solution to ensure I was debt-free & I took it!

  • okay guys Ive sat and raed this stuff
    going back to march
I live in northern ireland and believe me
if I lived in england I would
have jumped in my car and
    tracked these f***ers down
someone asked 'what did you spend the
    on?' well me personally
I spent it on clothes for my kids and I dont mean
    flashy gear. I mean Tescos...Sainsburys..Asda!
I bought food! We have nothing expensive in our house
our car is falling apart. So its not a case of spending money
and thinking..stuff it ..I wont pay it back...its a case of
oh my god..how am I going to put food on the table
next week! I hate BBCredit for giving false hope..and I hate
the credit card companies for moving the goal
    posts and upping charges!

Come on someone must know them in 1 way or another!!
I know these people personally. They were friends of mine (or so I thought). I have known them for years, our children played together, I went to their weddings, christenings etc. I baby sat their children and they helped me with mine. We had joint parties and celebrations. They attend our church regularly. In short, I believed them to be my friends.
They told me about the credit card debt clearing scheme. I had very little credit card debt at the time and I was actively encouraged to go out and spend, spend, spend. Oh and "please don't make your minimum payments because as long as these companies are getting something out of you, they will ignore the requests for the consumer credit agreements, etc that we will be asking them for."
Foolish you might say, but remember these people were my friends and I foolishly trusted them. I too was passed to Watsons Solicitors and have ended up paying them £800 for doing ...... absolutley nothing!!
Needless to say, I have ended up with egg on my face, a huge debt, a registered charge against my family home and a credit card bill that is going to take me some years to clear. I am determined to clear it as I have never, ever before had any kind of bad credit registered against me. These people have destroyed my credit rating and almost destroyed my faith in human nature.
I know exactly where they all live - Roy and June, Natalie and Alex, and they are still trading from their home address. The worst part is I have to drive past every day on my way home and see their cars parked on the drive and it takes every ounce of my strength not to stop and give them what for.

  • It is possible; it's a service we offer our clients BUT I would be very wary of entering into an agreement with some random company over it. When we do this, we do an analysis first of whether the loan is one that we are aware of usually having problems, we do charge a small fee up front and then a %, but if it is unsuccessful then the client is refunded in full. So there's no risk to them, all the risk is with us, if we work on a claim and it doesn't get the right result, we've lost out, not the client.
Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.

how do you tell some random company from a pucker one?

if you go to court and lose for your client and the judge awards costs do you pay those for your client too?

why charge an upfront fee to check it out if you pay it back if the claim is no good or will get the money if you win?
