Too bloody true about the new road signs. I've just been lumbered with a £100 penalty notice for misunderstanding a sign meaning 'no motor vehicles' but because it doesn't have a line through it, could mean the opposite. When I queried it, they told me I could pay £50 because it is within 14days, which I did, but I am NOT admitting liability and hope I can try and get it cancelled.
ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS?
These new signs, not only confusing, but WHY can't it say what it means, there would then be NO misunderstandings, but the council will then hopefully not receive too much money from fines??!!

Someone the other day told me that zigzag lines meant you could park there as long as there was a pet in the vehicle :rotfl: but she was an old dear so my colleague only gave her an informative chat not a ticket

:rotfl:
But does not surprise me. I swear people think that a sign that is a white circle with red border and the numbers 50 on it means a min speed of 50 not max. A min speed is a blue circle.
And double yellow lines are for parking while you nip to the shop.
Maybe the test should be getting harder. I have heard about quotas being used on how many can be passed in a month. Scrap if it is true and if they are good enough to pass. then pass them if not don't.

I have no clue to what sign you are referring to. Any chance you could show us. Was it a white circle with a red border around it.
But then to me any sign that is a white circle with a red border around it means don't do it. The overtaking sign does not have a red line through it but it still means don't do it.
Maybe you need to have a look through the highcode again to refresh your memory of what signs means what.
