Totally Free Highway Code

If like me you are learning to drive, you can get a totally free Highway Code from here: http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/Web/Corporate/pages.nsf/Pages%20By%20Editors/ECBEB788EC4860DD80257050003D2305 :j

personally think that there are a lot of drivers out there who need to read the highway code again. As they don't have a clue how to drive or what signs mean.

    Good luck with your driving.

  • There isn't anything saying it's free :( How do you actually get it?
  • There's a link to the online highway code. I've pasted it below:

    http://www.highwaycode.gov.uk/00.htm
  • ah right, so it isn't actually a free 'copy' of the highway code :o

    Silly optimistic me... :D

I seem to remember filling in my name and address, i'm sure there was a link for a free copy. Maybe they've been overwhelmed with orders that they've run out!!!

Absolutely gutted about Paul Walker - RIP xx

  • Yes Jadring, you did have to fill out your details originally. I did but have not received my copy yet but like you say, they probably underestimated demand.
  • Again? My friend hasn't even read it once! She passed her test last November. We had a disagreement over something and I told her to look in the Highway Code - she didn't have one, so I said look in your driving instructors copy - HE DIDN'T HAVE ONE! I gave her my copy and as far as I know, she didn't read it. How many people out there haven't read it at all?
  • The link to fill in your contact details has gone. However, if you let your cursor hover over the Highway Code picture to the right of the screen, the phone number is revealed. If you ring up, you'll speak to a human being rather than a machine, so just give your details & they'll post one out to you. :j

I'm a police traffic officer and you'd be surprised how few motorists actually know the highway code. Someone the other day told me that zigzag lines meant you could park there as long as there was a pet in the vehicle :rotfl: but she was an old dear so my colleague only gave her an informative chat not a ticket :D
    That, is an excellent question...
