Lloyds TSB Graduate Account

I would like to apply for this graduate account as opposed to the RBS account as the interest free overdraft rate is guaranteed, however I was about to apply online just now via the following link:

http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accounts/graduate_account_apply.asp

and it states:
  • transfer your current account from your existing bank if you're not already a Lloyds TSB customer,

Is there any way of opening up this account without having to transfer my current account???

yes, just tell then you will, then don't. ha ha
my bf opened his in branch, they said the same thing, he told them he'd pay his wages in, but nothing goes in or out, and the account is 1900 overdrawn. (prob doesn't look good credit rating wise)

ah right, so they wont take my current account details from me and transfer all existing standing orders, direct debits etc. automatically?

    that sounds cool

No, they ask if you want them to do it for you, but just say you'll do it yourself.

They will probably want to do it for you as part of the account opening process. If you refuse you may find no free overdraft until the receipt of your first salary credit.

I went in today and was refused the account.

As my parents or siblings don't bank with them they weren't willing to open the account. What's that all about???????

How far did the application go?
    Were you credit scored?

Parents and siblings sounds like a red herring to me - you probably failed the credit score if anything.

You did say in a previous post that you did not want to transfer your RBS current account to LTSB - why is this?

Not sure if I was credit scored, I asked the manager if it would affect my credit check and she assured me it wouldn't so I'm guessing they never did one.

I haven't got an account with RBS, my current account is with Barclays but I want to keep that open as in September I'll be doing a masters so want to take advantage of their postgraduate loan.

I'm going to set up a RBS account now, if LTSB don't want my business that's their problem.

Ah I see now; you want the interest free graduate account with Lloyds and the postgraduate facilities with Barclays.
I am not surprised that LTSB turned you down to be honest.
