That's not what I meant. Have you checked that the Windows drivers for your graphics card are up to date? You can do this either via the graphics card maker's website, or sometimes via the Hardware section of Windows Update.0 -
Sorry, but I'm not much help but my daughter had problems with the Sims after installing SP2. DirectX also caused problems and the solution lay there in the end.
The guy in the local computer shop was inundated with people asking!!! You are not alone!

Have you actually got to play the game before it crashes on you Cooper?
Have you Patched the game itself?
Visit the official sites forum - you're bound to find someone there who's had the same problem, they may be able to help.

Are you running it with the game disc in? It will try to run without it and then wait for you to put it in. IIRC that can sometimes crash it too.0
