WDIAG - when did you change your signature?!
A few weeks ago. I wanted to change one tiny thing on it, but I forgot about the signature rules that came into effect earlier this year. Once I'd made a change, it wouldn't let me go back to what I had before, so I had to faff about to even get this much in it. I preferred it when it had a bit more info in it, but if I add even one more letter it rejects the whole thing as having too many lines. :(

When you reach a certain number of posts. ;)

I think you get another one when you've made 2,000 posts, and a final one when you reach 10,000.

Not as good a 'serious money saver' as I was a couple of years ago - saved 40 grand by investing £325 in an SOA ! ;) :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about the latest developments DD . I hope whatever you've got planned makes a difference!...

I was wondering if you could let me know what borough you are in, if not I totally understand, but, I have got to write to my local MP anyway, who is also lib-dem, and wouldn't mind asking what the reasoning behind replacing yourselves (hope it doesn't happen) with a profit making organisation with no experience actually is... obviously I have my own take, but I wouldn't mind being humoured by my MP

All the Best...and good luck in the (possibly) final round, I hope you can get those bar-stewards on the ropes and deliver some heavy uppercuts and body blows?! :o;)

    Hi all,

The last ditch plan to save the Bureau was a Judicial Review in th High Court along with a quashing order to stop the process in its tracks due to the LSC and the local council failing to follow proper consultation proceedures. We received the opinions of 2 barristers who felt that the case had good merit, however neither our own national organisation ( national citizens advice ) nor our union ( Unite ) would agree to fund it, or more correctly risk losing and taking costs.

This means the fight to retain one of the largest Bureau s in the country ( 55 paid staff and 70 volunteers ) has come to an end. The contract has been formally agreed in favour of A4E. The Bureau has been open since 1939 and will continue in its present form until the CLAC opens in AUG / Sept.

The contract comes under TUPE regulations which means that the approx 35 paid staff we would lose should be taken on by A4E, under their current terms and conditions. The Bureau does have other funding streams, and should survive on those ( plus some reserves ) for a while but on a much smaller scale.

I seriously doubt whether the CLAC can deliver a quality service, and give the time required to assist people with the complex problems they face, even when I know that some good ex CAB staff will be trying to deliver them.

    You couldnt make it up

The government pays A4e up to £194 per customer per week, withholding 30 per cent of the fee until the participant is placed in full time employment that meets its conditions.
