  • Well it has taught me that

No one has a monopoly on good ideas, so many on here have some great ideas, which I can cherry pick, add together and taylor to my own situation:T

The realisation that my situation wasnt hopeless

Most importantly the realisation that my debt didnt control me, that if I got off my big fat lardy ^%£$ I could take control, dictate the pace, and within reason determine my debt free date ( the snowball calculator is an eye opener)

The ability to help others avoid the traps I have fallen in and lastly, the best people I will probably never meet:o

The whole is greater than the sum of the parts, here 2+2 can = 5:D

    MSE has given me...

    ...a place to be honest
...great tips about making cash using the internet - thankyou, bingo gods!
...lots of support when I've been feeling down
...links to handy tools like the snowball calculator
...the feeling that I'm not stupid, or alone
...the knowledge that other people have worked their way out of debt, and so will I.

So thanks to everyone on here! Basically I'm sure I'd still have my head in the sand if it wasn't for you guys! :T:T
  • Jak,

What a wonderful thread, everything listed in these posts is the the complete best of MSE and the reason we all love it so much.

For me personally it has given me a completely new focus on life, and once your focussed anything is possible.

Thank you Jak for this post and thanks to everyone else for well I guess everything else.

  • All of the above reasons. But for me as there is such an abudance of advice and everything else... It is the family you would chose, and it makes us all the richer for knowing them.

I have to agree with all of the above. I have 'met' some great people on here, and it is great to chat to people who are in the same boat, and totally understand where each other is coming from. The support is just outstanding and I couldnt have gotten through my days in debt without it.

MSE will always be a part of my life and I have hated the fact that since I have been travelling I havent been able to take advantage of any of the offers Martin emails us about.

I honestly thought the only way out of my debt problems was suicide. Just by chance I heard Martin on the radio and found MSE but in particular DFW. I had thought I was the only person in the world to have run up debts and I was very frightened of the letters and phone calls I was getting but also not being able to tell anyone was particularly difficult. I was on the point of ending it all when this wonderful community gave me hope. It has given me the confidence to face my problems head on, dealing with creditors is now something I can do without fear and thanks to the wonderful CCCS I have a DMP which works very well for me. I have learned so much from the people on here and what a courageous, funny, helpful lot you are!
