I was just wondering what it is about this site, especially DFW forum has helped you the most?

For me it is reading the stories of other people and realising i'm not alone in this, lots of people are trying really hard and doing everything they can to be debt free and giving lots of useful advice when i'm having a crisis. Coming on this forum helps me to keep the momentum going and makes me stay on track!

Thanks everyone!

  • Pretty much the same as you. Somewhere to put stuff down when trying to work out what to do. Good support from posters and generally a nice feel to the board. Im in a much better postion that other years and coming on here keeps me focused.

Congratulations on being a Mum to be.

    Debt-free and Proud!
Support from people who understand, great ideas for earning extra and cutting costs and the Challenges! I need things to motivate me and the Challenges are great for that.

It has been actually taking stock of my situation and facing up to it and dealing with it that has been the best thing for me. Everyone is so supportive with great ideas.

I also like the 'something for nothing' ideas such as freebies, quidco, pigsback etc.

Heinz' advice on Telephones has saved me a fortune on my phone bills.

The boards are a wealth of information, I have astounded my family with the recipes, discovered where the free money is (Quidco, etc). But most importantly I've found the confidence to stand up and face my debts!

I think what helps me the most is reading how hard everyone else is trying and also sometimes not being able to stay on task:o - then I feel slightly better! Also all the ideas for earning extra money or saving - I would never have thought of negotiating my ntl phone/broadband and it saved me lots!

So thanks to everyone who posts and lets me lurk! :T
