Slow Progress With ISA

I have completely dragged my feet with regards to transferring my existing ISA into an Alliance and Leicester ISA. I want to get this sorted out over the weekend for good but I have some questions:

1. Can I setup an ISA online with Alliance and Leicester and transfer the money across or can this only be done via an application form.

2. Are there any cash back etc offers for transferring to A&L, I know pigsback used to have an offer but is seems to have disappeared.

BLF will know the answer as he set up an A&L account (I think).

However you can open one up yes, do not manually transfer funds whatever you do.

You want to fill in a transfer application form from A&L website (I will find one and edit post when I do, if you find it sooner, good).

    Second question: no idea sorry!

    google is amazin

It depends on wether you are talking about 'new' money for 2008/9 or if you want to transfer previous years?...

I applied for my 2008/9 A & L ISA on Monday online, got e-mail back within 2hrs giving me the new ISA acc No and it appeared in my list of A & L Accs 24hrs later.. I transferred into it straight away from my A & L savings Acc this years allocation . The next morning I got the welcome pack with the form to transfer my previous years ISA into it.. so that has now been sent off... you must NOT transfer previous years ISA yourself it has to be done by the bank...

A very quick and painless process...

So is filling in the application form that the previous poster posted is the correct procedure while transferring?

Incidentally I want to transfer into this new account my old ISA balance and the new tax years allowance.

you can open the account and then put in your new tax year allowance then also arrange to transfer your previous years allowances... this is what I have done...
A & L will send a transfer application form in with your welcome letter when the new ISA is opened...

Thanks again, I presume the ISA can simply be opened straight away online or is it a little more complicated than that?

I opened mine online but I already hold several accounts and a previous ISA with them so it might be more complicated if you are not already an A & L customer... I would go down the online route and see what happens...
