O2 iphone £100 rebate- missed by 6hrs!
Wondered if anyone had any idea about what to do. I ordered an iphone on 1/4/08. The payment of £269 was taken from my credit card the next day. The price reduction was announced on the 16/4/08 and so i gave o2 a call. They told me that they were giving rebates to customers who had bought the iphone up to 2 wks previously and therefore i had missed the deadline by 6hrs!! I even phoned up my credit card company (capital one) and asked whether they had the policy about refunding the difference when u buy a product which is subsequently reduced in price? The guy said Capital one didnt have that policy? Im wondering whether anyone has any ideas as im really miffed to have missed out?
1. Should i Phone/write to o2 again and grovel to them to give me the rebate out of the goodness of their hearts??
2. The guy at capital one didnt seem that knowlegable. Anyone know whether they actually do refund price differences?
3. Accept it and afirm never to give in to gadget temptation?!?:A

It's not anyone's fault that something that cost X yesterday is now costing less than X today, be it a month later or 30 seconds later. By offering a rebate policy they are doing customers a favour (they don't have to give that money back - they sold it to you for that price fair-and-square because you were willing to pay that price for it!).
So I agree - it's '3'... gutting I know! The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

yes, i suppose. However carphone warehouse offer a 30 day period as opposed to the 14 day offered by O2? Would be a little more content if everyone had the same policy.0
