Hiya, I've downloaded the google toolbar something I've always steered clear of. Having five strip along from side to side, takes up a fair amount of sapace. Using F11 helps, but touching that continually is a pain. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

So, are you suggesting I remove this google toolbar? if I do, I will have to go back to using the small google bar at the top rt, but this is giving priority to USA now, have you noticed others are commenting on it?. I'm prepared to do as you say though, will just wait and see how you comment.
WHOOPS! I see I missed a post. How do I remove this google toolbar now then please.

did you read my previous comment, from mycroft (my link) you can download a 'search uk' google search for the little search box (the one top right, probably with amazon, google, yahoo etc.) you can add/replace dozens of engines here, i have about 15, and i don't think any are the originals (i have imdb, ebay uk and others)

edit - just noticed i posted the link just before you posted, so you may not have noticed it. 4.13pm!Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
No, whilst I was deliberating the pro's & cons, you posted and I missed it. I'm now off to tell someone else of your solution. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Thanks, the only thing is I really like the google toolbar, I use lots of its features such as translate, google bookmarks, google scholar buttons and the spell check. I just wish the 'search uk' button also worked. Oh well.
Thanks islandman for pointing me here and Tony for some useful links, i'm going to have a look at some of the other google ideas on that page.
Any thoughts on getting google alternative spelling suggestions to work? It always used to.

I'm sure there is a small downloadable program that I use, that shows up any spelling error and I think it's called ispell (google it to see). When you make an error, the word has a red line underneath, you right click on it, and alternatives come up, you then click on the one you want.
I would dare to suggest that anything you require that's within the google tool bar, can be found as add-ons. I always think that it's best NOT to have too many strips/bars along the top otherwise it reduces screen visability. I know you can touch F11 to rid yourself of them, but some you DO need. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Many thanks. I suppose it's what you get used to, I find it easy to just click on the button I need. I have 3 toolbars including google so don't find it too intrusive. I'll have a look at the add-ons.
