When ever I google, it is always in favour of "from the web" when I would much prefer "from the UK", how can this be changed.

I use google.co.uk not .com, this site gives you the option to select sites from the uk.

Hmm... short of searching for something in the UK and setting the result as your homepage I don't see how it can be done. There's certainly nothing about it on the preferences page.

depends where you are searching from - in the browser window is different to a toolbar search box - it can be changed from preferences.0

If you have the google toolbar, click on the google drop down on the left, select options, search, and tick Search UK in the Add Google Search Buttons to your toolbar.
Now, on the toolbar next to the search box you will have a Search button and a Search UK button.Charlie0 -
when you type the search you can add site:uk and it filters the domain names to those originating in the uk0

I should have added that you need to select 'UK' on the 'Use Google site' also, but I'm sure you worked that out!Charlie0

But then you miss out on all those UK sites that are registered to .com or other domains. On the other hand, the "pages from the UK" option seems to have little effect on search results...birchscrub wrote: »when you type the search you can add site:uk and it filters the domain names to those originating in the uk0 -
I'm not making any headway. My browser is firefox and up in the right top corner, is a google search box/bar. There is no facility to expose a drop down box.
If I produce the google search site full screen, again I can find nothing on the left to drop down. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
don't bother with the toolbar, it'll just low things down, g here and look down the page, click on
