Another good year of investments.

I am pleased to report the good news that I have earned another 1000 pounds last year in investments. It is not a great return I admit but it is a bit extra for the bank balance.

A whole fish supper just for himself is far too extravagant - just the chips should do nicely.

I remember the thread about him not wanting to spend the money on a fish supper should he get a girlfriend.

I also remember the cushion thread, the dead flowers thread and the bus money thread!!!

Since you bring up spelling and grammar, I think you'll find earned is strictly correct although earnt is also increasingly becoming acceptable.

But I think you should read the ops post again, where he has written earned, so it looks as though you thought that 'earned' was wrong and 'earnt' was right

I know.... but obviously the others didn't know that so they thought that the reply was trying to be right but was wrong. Thats how it looked for me too to be honest.
