Grrr. A couple of months ago I ordered some speakers from Savastore but they arrived minus a lead so I reported this expecting that the missing lead would be forwarded. Wrong. I had to fill in (and get authorised) a returns form which then allowed me two weeks to send the goods back at my expense. I contested this and eventually got them to pay for the return. I got an email saying they had received the goods back then nothing. Initially I was expecting replacement speakers but after a month, I eventually got an email from them saying a refund had been authorised. So I bought another set of speakers which had all the leads and bits but, I still don't have the refund for the original speakers. Savastore ignore all emails and have an 0871 number as a telephone contact (I don't think I will ring that). In all, I am very dissapointed at Savastore's after sales service.

That was where you went wrong. Previously known as Watford Electronics (a Google search will reveal all).
NEVER order anything from them unless you live close enough to take back to the retail counter at their warehouse, and even then only if you have a lot of time to kill (quick they are not).0 -
For just this reason I tend to always order from Amazon. You might pay a bit more but you can be sure they will treat you right. Also, as Altarf says above, always a good idea to do a Google search on a company (using words like PROBLEM) before you order for the first time. Speakers are not too expensive so just put this down to experience. If you want to go the legal route to get your money back, let us know and we can help.Eh?? I give up!! Towel is getting thrown in here!0

Watford Electronics...dreadful company! They may well have changed their name but have they changed their pratices?
I was standing in a queue in their Luton store once, waiting to be served, whilst watching a bizarre confrontation that went on for ages between an ex employee's mum and the sales staff. It was just before christmas and the mum was screaming at the sales staff to get the manager and that they'd wrongly dismissed her son and hadn't paid him. The sales staff carried on serving the customers without batting an eyelid, all to the background noise of screaming and shouting! But then maybe it was a regular occurence.
Months later I was interviewed by one of their directors for a techie position and the interviewer asked me the toughest questions ever possible to make me feel worthless and then went on to tell me I was rubbish but I could still have a job with them but what would be the least amount of money that i'd be prepared to work for! I was quite shocked and unimpressed and made a hasty exit.
Then a few months later again someone even more senior from them rang me up out of the blue offering me an even bigger position. He told me that the person that had interviewed me had been sacked. About this time someone advised me that he'd worked for them and that I should steer well clear.
You have to hand it to them. It's not easy to be both appalling to work for and buy from. If they were the last company on earth offering me a job and selling computer equipment i'd avoid them.0 -
OP, presumably distance selling involved here.... so you paid by card? If credit card, just ask your card issuer to refund you the money for the goods.0

Well I have just started my county court claim with them due to me returning a faulty £800+ laptop and them never refunding my money. I hassled them for MONTHS with no responses.
Lets see if this gets them motivated.0 -
Isn't there a 3 month time limit for small claims court? I may be wrong it's just something which just popped into my thoughts just then.
I may be thinking employment tribunal...... :rolleyes:0 -

Tried that but CC people said I needed confirmation from Savastore that they had refunded (???). Might try them again. Had thought of legal route but problem with using the Small claims court is the fee is more than the cost of the speakers and there is no guarantee Savastore will pay up the original amount let alone the fee as well.0
