Years ago I kept my flour in sealed containers in the kitchen cupboard. One day when I was moving stuff about I noticed that there was 'movement' in the container. I felt physically sick, I thew the entire containers and contents out. They were flour weevils. I bleached all the cupboards and everything but because they were 'contained' they had not spread.

Since that day I have always, always kept my four in the frrezer and then I pop it in a plastic bag (double bagging it effectively) to keep the contents secure as sometimes the original paper bag becomes a bit leaky. I take out excatly what I need about an hour before I need it to bring it up to room temeprature. The weevil eggs are in the flour already not much you can do about that, but it's the hatching process that worries me. The freezing way deals with it and I wouldn't do it any other way now.
