What do people think of http://humaxdirect.co.uk/Product.asp?ProdRef=10041&cat=Factory ?

I'm looking for a simple twin tuner PVR (i.e. record one freeview channel and be able to watch another channel) that is reliable and newbie-friendly :D
My only potential problem is freeview signal strength where I live (currently using cheapo indoor aerial - v variable reception).

Of course if anyone knows something cheaper that would fit the bill.... ;)

Also - does it use scart connections? Or fancy wierd cables? I have a vintage TV so everthing either works through aerial socket or scart.

Looks like a refurb version of the bog-standard Humax 9200 Helen (although I'm not sure what the 'G' signifies). SHould be fine. We bought one when they first came out and still use it every day. It's pretty good in a low signal area, very versatile and is easy to use.

I have had a Humax 9200T myself for the past two years and I couldn't do without it now, this 160gb TopUp TV one according to some has very similar features but is a lot cheaper than the Humax.

I bought this one in my local Tesco store for £80 also available via Tesco Direct with varying pricing and I'm happy with it.

You can stop all the Top Up stuff and the only thing I have against it is no picture in picture.

Hi - I've just ordered the PVR9200TB-G Humax from their website - bought a refurbished one at 129, which seems very reasonable.

Ours arrived yesterday and as my son said it is freaking awesome. Picture quality excellent, series link, picture in picture, instant replay and advert skip - and we're only half way through the manual

Oh yes, advert skip but isn't the button underneath the sliding cover?
