they cannot expect a kid to have an income of at least 250 a month!!
That's only £3000 per year! Most uni students probably get at least that much through a combination of student loans and parental handouts/loans.I am a Chartered Financial Planner

There used to be a £250 minimum monthly funding fee, but that has been removed.
It is 'free' to everyone now regardless of how much you earn, which is good news for my step-daughter who earns just a few quid and is getting her seriously thinking about saving for her own car!

he used his own, but seeing as they don't charge an admin fee it doesn't matter who gets the cashback0

You must be 21 or over. You need to pay in at least £500 a month or we may charge fees. Credit transfers to the account from other Alliance & Leicester accounts will not count towards the minimum monthly credit.

I think you are looking at the "Premier Direct Current Account" or "Premier Current Account". If you look at the "Premier 21" account then you will notice that you must be 16-20 and there is no monthly funding requirement mentioned.0 -
