I Can't Buy An iPhone!

N.B. This thread is also on the Bankruptcy forum:

I want to buy an 8gb £169.00 iPhone to unlock and use on my existing monthly Orange mobile account which I've had for several years.

I have a Co-op Bank Visa Electron debit card linked to a Cashminder account and a Virgin pay-as-you-go Mastercard.

You HAVE to buy the iPhone via credit or debit card - cash is NOT accepted.

I can't buy the iPhone from Carphonewarehouse because they don't accept Electron and I can't buy it from Apple because they are still charging £269.00.

O2 do accept Electron but when I tried to buy the 'phone from their website my card was declined even though I have a healthy credit balance on my current account.

I suspect that the reason for my refusal by O2 was because I am an undischarged bankrupt and they ran a credit check on me.

Any ideas how I can get my 8gb iPhone for £169.00? Would it be worth transferring funds to my Virgin p-a-y-g Mastercard and trying that or will I be stumped by a credit check again?
