Does it have a limit to how long you can stay online for?
Thanks, i don't have a clue how these things work.:embarasse

I've had a look at my itunes library, the average song is about 4Mb, so a 1Gb's worth of downloads would be around 250 songs.
If you use the BBC iPlayer you will soon exceed your limit.
If you go over I guess they will send you an e-mail warning you and if you persist they will probably move you to a more expensive package.
The one you mention 1Gb for £9.99/month seems expensive, my Sky mid package is £5/month with a 40Gb limit. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
The PlusNet 1Gb is not a limit, it is an allowance. Once you reach it (during a month) you have 3 choices:
1) Surf the net at reduced connection speeds for the rest of the month (typically 128K during peak periods).
2) Buy another 1GB there and then
3) Upgrade your account to a higher allowance.
Also, any surfing in off peak periods (midnight to 8am AFAIK) does not count towards your usage so you can do big downloads and iPlayer stuff in the small hours.
For run of the mill surfing and email, two of us use just under 2GB in a month. So PlusNet is fine for us at £10.74 a month (for 2GB allowance).
Does your £5 a month deal with Sky require you to have a Sky (TV) contract? It sounds too good to be true.0 -
Yes the Sky deal requires you to be a Sky TV subscriber, the lowest price TV package being £16/month.
You also need to be in an area where your local exchange has been LLU'd with Sky's equipment.
Then you can have up to 2Mb /2Gb broadband for free, 8Mb/40Gb for £5, and 16Mb/unlimited for £10.
You do need a BT line as well which would cost £11.50 or so.That gum you like is coming back in style.0
