Hi. I just received my card today and activated before reading this tread. I quickly went back to call customer services to enquire if there are any charges for using this card. She put me on hold and went off to ask....came back to say no charges but stamp duty for those who live in Ireland only0

I got this card through Martin's link so it should be the same as most people, just a normal Ulster Bank card.
I've not heard anything back yet so will be chasing them today to find out what they are doing.
I've never been resident in Ireland so have no idea how the my details have been put on any 'stamp duty' list.
Won't be letting this go though.0 -
Well I haven't had a call from Ulster in the 24hours as promised so I phoned them up.
The charge has been removed!
So it most certainly was a mistake but no apology. So I guess the moral of the story is that it could also happen to any one of us with an Ulster card so check your statement!
