I've never heard of a credit limit - whatever its value - being split between cards in this way. After all, the principal cardholder is responsible for paying the entire debt.

But what's all this with Nectar? There are cards out there that give you cashback - yes, cash! Amex themselves do one at 5%, Abbey does 5% in supermarkets only (up to £50) and several do 1%. Compared with that, Nectar sucks.
However hard up you are, never accept loans from your friends. Just gifts

The Amex one is a Platinum, does that have a higher income threshold?

Might try one of those in 6 mnths time, but would probably get rejected if I applied now.

EDIT: Just checked online and new credit limit is on there. Sorted.

On a side note, you can get a "family account" for Nectar points - allows you to pool your nectar card points into a single account. Details on the Nectar website.

My mum and I have nectar cards and keyrings all connected to the same points account so I assume we're doing that already?
