British Gas Boiler Cover Help Please!

Hi this is my first post, shame it's such a frustrating subject. Having trouble with my hot water was running hot and cold, british gas changed my filling loop and pressure relief valve & seal on my Alpha cb24 boiler. The water is now just not getting hot from taps at all but radiators working fine. I am now bieng told that i need a replacement DHW heating exchanger part ? due to a build up of limescale in the exchange (the guy has even taken the part off yet)and of course i am not covered for limescale build up so thats £150. They are also saying that i should have a magnaclean 22mm filter £256 and a hydroflow scale reducer £142, at my expense of course, any-one out there who hasn't hurt them selfs to much laughing offer any advice? :mad:

How long have you had homecare cover for? and what level of cover.

Also how old is your boiler?

had boiler for 7yrs and I've had Home care 400 for about 3 yrs. Saga continues the guy has just rung (ment to be here today on a 12 - 6 time slot just called to say not going to make it second afternoon waiting in within 10 days and no show) He now says that if i have a hydroflow scale reducer fitted for £142 that i will be covered for the replacement of the DHW heating exchanger so just have to pay the £142.
