Will my university hinder my chances of getting the job i want?

The classification you get is far, far more important than the university. It doesn't matter if you get a 2.2 from Oxford, you didn't reach the 2.1 cut-off point and so your application (if it specifically asks for a 2.1 or above) will be binned. Whereas a first from Oxford Brookes won't.0

either way, this summer will be a bad year for graduate recruitment because the economy isn't looking so strong - everyone graduating this year needs to be prepared for the fact that there are less jobs this time around and therefore competition will be higher.:happyhear0 -

Unless you are wanting to be a barrister or working in investment banking, there are few companies which only recruit from Oxbridge. Even those companies would probably be wanting at least a 2.1.
I agree about graduate recruitment. Sadly there are too many people who think that a degree is a golden ticket to a job. It will be the people who have used their time at university wisely (work experience, especially relevant work experience, and being active in clubs/societies) who will have a hope.0 -
