Medical examination every 6 months

I went for a medical exatmination, i was shocked to find out that all the dr did was fill out a form. i was totaly honest with the guy, i was suffering bad depression and anxiety for which i was on prozac for and a high dose at that.
I was asked what my normal day was like and if i had problems with mobility. which i dont have problems walking running or anything like that. I was just extreemly depressed and paranoid. The letter i got back from said there was nothing wrong with me.
I think the problem is with these exams is that these DR are not known by you and what you say is not always documented in a way it should be.
i wish you luck and hope everything turns out for the best for you.0 -
hey guys I just found out that my appointment is in the city many miles away from my house. I cant get a lift there i dont drive and i cant get public transport because of my anxiety/panic attacks. I asked them if there was a place nearer to me and they said no i asked them if they could come visit me or pay for a taxi and they said no.
From what i gathered from inforamtion on the gov website is that if i cant get there because of my health that they would have to help me out but on the phone they said no and they would not give a reason.
I do not know what the law is but i thought they could not make someone with bad anxiety and panic attacks get on a busy public transport up to the busy city where there are lots of people.
I cant face being around alot of people.:A0 -
In this situation they should either pay for a taxi or grant you a home visit. Try ringing again and if you do not get agreement to either of these ask to speak to a supervisor and explain your situation to them.0

kentguy07- I would suggest that you first speak to your GP and explain.
JCP will have normally already asked your GP if you are able to attend a medical examination, thats why ATOS (on behalf of JCP) are now requesting that you attend.
A home visit, (or taxi fare agreed by ATOS), would normally only be done if a GP says someone was unable, or needs a taxi, to attend an examination.
Your GP may be prepared to write a letter/explain to ATOS. However, your GP may make a charge for the letter.0 -

In this situation they should give you a home visit, but they normally ask for a gps letter to confirm the reasons why you want/need one, phone them again and if you get the same reply ask to speak to a supervisor, then ask them why youve been lied to0
